Upcoming Albums – September, 9th

Here are Metal Utopia’s most anticipated albums of the week!

Jared is looking forward to Gudsforladt’s Friendship, Love and War, and Revocation’s Netherheaven:

Gudsforladt – Friendship, Love and War

Some sweet atmoblack from a formerly local Boston solo project. Plus that cover is sweet.

Revocation – Netherheaven

One of the best tech-y bands is back for another round. Guitar legend and name legend Dave Davison making Berklee College of Music proud with every release.

Nathan is looking forward to and Revocation’s Netherheaven:

Revocation – Netherheaven

Revocation’s bad albums are still enjoyable daeth metal. While I’ve never been the biggest fan of the band, they’ve always made solid, dependable music and I have no reason to believe that this effort will be any less.

Rick is looking forward to and Ozzy Osbourne’s Patient Number 9:

Ozzy Osbourne – Patient Number 9

Three years ago the need for a new Ozzy album could have been debatable, with questions such as, what more is there to say? And yet. His latest album, Ordinary Man, proved that the Prince Of Darkness still had lots of things to day – and I really enjoyed the brooding mood of the whole record, carefully balanced with a fun repertoire of collaborations. So while it is very much possible that Patient Number 9 won’t match the intimate nature of the previous record, I do believe it’ll be, at the very least, an enjoyable walk through the asylum park alongside Ozzy and friends.

Rutger is looking forward to and Ozzy Osbourne’s Patient Number 9:

Ozzy Osbourne – Patient Number 9

With Ozzy being the artist who got me into metal, I can only be curious how his new music is going to be. Ordinary Man was an amusing record, so I’m looking forward to hearing what his collaborations with other artists will be like.

Spenser is looking forward to Allen/Olzen’s Army of Dreamers, and Fallujah’s Empyrean:

Allen/Olzen – Army of Dreamers

While I think Floor Jansen has been the best vocalist for Nightwish, I do miss Annette Olzen’s voice. That, combined with arguably one of the greatest vocalists since Dio, made 2020’s World’s Apart very enjoyable. This follow-up is bound to have more catchy hooks and gorgeous duets that I can’t get enough of.

Fallujah – Empyrean

I was very disappointed with Undying Light back in 2019. Fallujah seemed to abandon all the things that made me fall in love with them. The few singles off this upcoming record hint at a potential return to form without copy-and-pasting precious material.
