Here are Metal Utopia’s most anticipated albums of the week!
Leon and Chris are looking forward to Hellripper’s The Affair of The Poisons:
The king of blackened speed metal is back. If it’s half as good as Coagulating Darkness, it’d still be pretty damn good.
The Scottish one man shredfest known as Hellripper is back with his second full length album. Their first full length was a glorious onslaught of blackened speed metal. He blended these two genres in quite an impressive fashion. I need more speed metal in my life, hopefully Hellripper can fill the prescription.
Leon is looking forward to Necrophobic’s Dawn of the Damned, and Radiant Knife’s The Ghost:
Speaking of kings, the kings of melodic black/death metal also have a new release. Despite some setbacks they experienced in the last decade, 2018’s “Mark of The Necrogram” was a hell of an album, and I’m sure they can match it.
Straightforward riff-based sludge with a tinge of prog to keep it cool and releasing their second EP this year.
Rutger is looking forward to King Parrot’s Holed Up in the Lair:
After three successful full-length records and Australian thrash metal / grindcore band King Parrot are to release an EP this Friday. I’m looking forward to hearing it.
Sean is looking forward to Touché Amoré’s Lament:
While not a metal band this is one that I’m very excited for and I wanted to give some attention to this regardless of genre. Touché Amoré’s brand of aggressive, lyric focused, post-hardcore and has always spoken to my inner sad boy. If you like things like Have Heart or Birds in Row than this is a band for you.
“The demo was better.”
