Here are Metal Utopia’s most anticipated albums of the week!
Connor is looking forward to Fallujah’s Undying Light:
This studio album will be the band’s fourth.
Darryl is looking forward to Iron Savior’s Kill or Get Killed:
The German Power Metalers release their 12th album of the ongoing story of the Iron Savior. Prepare for soaring choruses and the classic Savior sound.
Joey is looking forward to Deafkids’ Metaprogramação, and Venom Prison’s Samsara:
A very unique approach to this always expanding genre. The Brazilian three-piece explores their sonic surroundings using chanting, hypnotic drum patterns, and a dark frenetic punk energy. Noise that is worth exploring.
I pity anyone who has to try and fit this band into a box, but I’ll do my best! Blackened hardcore death metal? But even that feels too constricting for what this UK crew is putting out. Samsara is their most brutal and complete work to date and I can’t wait to spin this beast. The artwork is something to marvel over as well.
Leon is looking forward to Hannes Grossmann’s Apophenia, Månegarm’s Fornaldarsagor, and Oozing Wound’s High Anxiety:
(Release date: 11.3.) Did you know that Grossmann, the drummer of many great bands such as Necrophagist, Obscura, Blotted Science and Alkaloid, has his own tech-death/prog solo project? If you’re a fan of any of the aforementioned, be sure to check out this upcoming third album.
Ah yes, good old nordic viking folk black metal forged during the classic days of the style. Månegarm are veterans with eight, soon nine albums under their belt. As they arguably never made a bad one, this one is also worth a spin.
Sludge, thrash, noise rock. Rip and tear with these Chicago boys’ fourth release.
“The demo was better.”
Our favorite releases from January! Jared: Amor - Mélancholie du Dhampir Some romantic, ethereal raw…
