Upcoming Albums – July, 17th

Here are Metal Utopia’s most anticipated albums of the week!

Leon is looking forward to Khthoniik Cerviiks’s Æequiizoiikum, and Tooms’ The Orb Offers Massive Signals:

Khthoniik Cerviiks – Æequiizoiikum

It’s like Voivod if Voivod were born in the deepest, darkest abyss. Thrashy, dense death / black, with weird and twisted riffs for days with an occasional dash of ‘normalcy’ to keep you on edge.

Tooms – The Orb Offers Massive Signals

Viscous punchy sludge with just enough style-hopping to keep it interesting without making it an incoherent mess. This is the Ireland boys’ debut and it shows that they have a future. Bonus points if you recognize the band name reference.

Rutger is looking forward to Conan/Deadsmoke’s Doom Sessions Vol. 1, and Eremit’s Desert of Ghouls:

Conan/Deadsmoke – Doom Sessions Vol. 1

Sludge/stoner bands Conan and Deadsmoke join forces to release a split LP this Friday. I’m really looking forward to hearing their fresh material.

Eremit – Desert of Ghouls

Little over a year after their critically acclaimed debut, Carrier of Weight, the doom trio from Osnabrück, Germany release their follow-up: a two-track EP that ties the stories between their previous and their next full-lengths.

Sean is looking forward to Kommand’s Terrorscape:

Kommand – Terrorscape

Maggot Stomp has been the preeminent label in the realm of absolutely filthy death metal and Kommand have proven to be one of the best the label has to offer. I have been wearing the demos out for the past few years and cannot ficking wait for this debut full length.
