Upcoming Albums – August, 9th

Here are Metal Utopia’s most anticipated albums of the week!

Darryl is looking forward to Pathology’s Reborn to Kill:

Pathology – Reborn to Kill

The Brutal Death Metal veterans from San Diego release their tenth album of relentless brutality.

Hannes is looking forward to Destruction’s Born to Perish, and Suicidal Angels’ Years of Aggression:

Destruction – Born to Perish

Releasing their fourteenth studio album, the German Thrash veterans show that they’re still alive and thrashing. One of the most anticipated Thrash records of 2019.

Suicidal Angels – Years of Aggression

Suicidal Angels release their seventh full-length. The Greeks offer a more melodic approach to Thrash. I really enjoyed the singles, looking forward to this album.

JP is looking forward to Slipknot’s We Are Not Your Kind, and The Contortionist’s Our Bones EP:

Slipknot – We Are Not Your Kind

It is almost a given that you’re aware of Slipknot to some degree. Like them or not, their newest album is going to be absolutely huge as the singles have all been stellar, each in their own way. Although somewhat mainstream, their music is actually unique and not completely bland and uninteresting (cough 5FDP cough). This is something you cannot miss.

The Contortionist – Our Bones EP

Although sadly only an EP with about 13 minutes of material (including a Smashing Pumpkins cover), I will gladly take new material from The Contortionist any day. There is something mesmerizing about the lush and meloncholic soundscapes that never fails to draw my full attention. Now I must eagerly wait for the next full length.
