Here are Metal Utopia’s most anticipated albums of the week!
Josh is looking forward to Havukruunu’s Uinuos syömein sota:
Finnish black metallers are back with another outstanding album. Portions of this album have been available to listen to online for a few weeks, leaving me hopelessly excited to sit down and listen to the full thing. Raw, dreary, and utterly intense, this album will be worth multiple spins.
Leon is looking forward to Chrome Ghost’s Married.Buried. EP, and Nug’s Alter Ego:
Pallbearer-esque doom, and just as well made in my opinion. Stomping riffs, mournful dirges, acoustic ambient bits, it’s got it all.
Haven’t heard of these guys before this week, but it looks like a very promising slab of classic atmospheric sludge with a grasp of both Isis-style ambiance and Amenra-style intensity.
Rick is looking forward to Terra Atlantica’s Age Of Steam:
Sometimes an album cover is enough to catch the attention of a music fan, and this was the case with the second album from this German power metal band. I had never heard of them before, so I’m curious to discover if the music lives up to the visual standard.
Sean is looking forward to Primitive Man’s Immersion:
Primitive Man has been the standard for high quality Sludgy Doom in the modern metal age. Hateful and oppressive, their last album, Caustic, brought Primitive Man to new levels of acclaim and recognition. This is amoung my most anticipated albums of 2020 and I can’t wait to hear what they came up with this time.
“The demo was better.”
