The most interesting releases of the week!
Jared:
German blackened thrash on Dying Victims, who don’t miss. This thing is gonna be sick.
Debut full length from Slovenian heavy/speed metal band Challenger, releasing on Dying Victims. The singles for this record are a riot and I can’t wait to hear the full thing.
Hard-working death metal boys in Sentient Horror releasing the follow-up to the outstanding “Rites of Gore”, and it’s a ripper. While I’d still say I prefer their previous outing, this one is a worthy addition.
Danish prog darlings Iotunn have returned to follow up their critically acclaimed 2021 album, “Access All Worlds”. I can’t say I’m the biggest fan of their style, but when a band gets the kind of attention Iotunn gets, I’m obligated to pay attention.
My Quebecois darlings in Sedimentum are releasing a three-track EP this Friday, consisting of more of their signature grimy, dirty, crushing death metal. Don’t miss this.
Belgian blackened speed icons in Bütcher are releasing the follow-up to their legendary “666 Goats Carry My Chariot”, and from the promo singles, this one might even match its predecessor.
Denver, Colorado supergroup Black Curse releasing the followup to 2020’s “Endless Wound”, and this record is one of the meanest things I’ve heard all year.
Massachusetts sludge enjoyers Chained are releasing their newest full-length on October 29, a successor to their great “Obsession Destruction” from last year, and I’m excited to hear where they take their blunted, atmospheric Thou worship.
