Here are our most anticipated releases of the week!
Swedish dark folk from Season Of Mist with wonderful harmonized vocals similar to Myrkur or Sylvaine.
A collaboration between two of the weirder bands out there. It didn’t seem like their sounds would mix at all. Like matter and antimatter, the combination of these two bands creates something energetic and interesting.
Excellent death metal from Profound Lore. The ground underneath them has shifted since their last full-length in 2015, but captivating music can transcend trends.
Happy I, Voidhanger day. Another immense release from the master of grandiose atmosphere, this album wraps up Midnight Odyssey’s new 3-part epic. As with everything released under this name, Biolume Part 3 crashes under its own weight only to rise even higher in the way that can only be accomplished by true passion. Whether you love his music or think that it’s boring, there is nothing else that even comes close to Midnight Odyssey.
This was a complete surprise for me. Weeping Silence play gothic progressive metal, and have the songwriting capability to pull off 16-minute epics like it’s nothing. This is worth listening to if you’re into that thing, even if like me you hadn’t been a fan of the band before now.
